electronica
2010 had a great deal more to offer than just a conventional exhibition. It
also featured an extensive range of application panels and a number
of events that underscored yet again electronica's
significance.
Take a brief look at the highlights of electronica
2010:

"What lessons have we learned from the crisis?"
More than 300 people attended the traditional electronica CEO Roundtable on the first day of the fair.
Four prominent CEOs from the semiconductor industry – Peter Bauer from Infineon
Technologies, Rich Beyer from Freescale Semiconductor, Carlo Bozotti from STMicroelectronics
and Rick Clemer from NXP Semiconductors – discussed the background behind the
economic crisis in the year's 2008 and 2009 and the effects that it had on
their industry.

Completely new and extremely convenient: electronica 2010 also made its exhibitor database,
the entire exhibition schedule and other functions available in the form of a
mobile application. It allowed visitors to conveniently search for interesting
events, specific exhibitors and other key points and confidently navigate through
the electronica website. The "electronica App" was
available for iPhones; "electronica
Mobil" for all other smartphones. Both were free of charge. |

electronica TV, or eTV,
was the official television broadcaster for electronica
again in 2010.
eTV featured technically founded, highly
competent and independent reports from the fair, which it broadcast twice a day
on all four days of electronica. Programming
also included exciting interviews and up-to-date reports on the
industry's latest hot topics, trends and technologies. In keeping with electronica's orientation and international
character, all reports were in English. Tune in. It's worthwhile! www.electronica-tv.tv |

 As in the past, electronica
was a gathering for highly qualified specialists and entry-level employees
again in 2010. The panel discussion "Arbeitswelt Elektronik 2020 – Opportunity or Risk", which was moderated by Christine
Demmer, a Freelance Correspondent at "Süddeutsche Zeitung", saw good
attendance and generated a great deal of interest among trade visitors. The
stand of the online job exchange "semica" near the East Entrance featured
six career consultants who conducted more than 400 first-time interviews with
interested candidates.
A total of 282 students pursuing various engineering degrees registered for Junior
Day on Friday. Representatives from companies including Osram
Semiconductors, Future Electronics, Rohde & Schwarz, Texas Instruments and Bertrandt
made brief presentations that included job descriptions and entry-level
opportunities in their companies and were then available to answer the future
engineers' questions. |
